The first soda factory was founded in 1892 by the Swiss Bomonti Brotherhood. Today, the name of Bomonti district emerged after this factory. Bomonti brothers II. During the reign of Abdulhamid, they became the ice supplier of the palace, and after persuading the Sultan to produce local beer, they obtained permission to establish a factory. Nektar Brewery was established in 1908 in Büyükdere. The reason for its establishment in this region is the presence of quality Kocataş water in ...the region. However, Nektar could not compete with Bomonti for a long time and in 1912 the two companies merged under the name Bomonti Nektar.
