Beautiful studio glass bowl by Robert Held, a Canadian artist who turned to glass rather than canvas as a means of displaying his creative talent. That's about the extent of my knowledge but this bowl was thought to have been brought back from a trip to Canada in the 1980s and was part of his Impressionist series?
Its a chunky heavy bowl with iridescent colours, a bright turquoise at the base which fades into a band of, slightly raised, multi coloured 'pebbles' ending with a band of... mottled golden yellow at the top. It stands on a round foot, the underneath of which is etched 'R Held Art Glass', along with the original sticker 'Robert Held Art Glass, Hand Made in Canada'.
Condition is very good with no damage.
The last two images show it with another bowl from the same source, also listed and with a bottle of wine for scale. This listing is for 1 bowl.
