This is a fine Large Boxwood Edo Netsuke of a Wolf or most likely a Wild Dog with a captured Hare. The eyes are inlaid and the hair work is very well executed. The well carved animal is holding down its prey with it's paw, The Netsuke has a wonderful colour and patina also a lovely polish from use that only old Netsuke achieve. The Himotoshi are created naturally through the legs. Re-listed due to buyer's changing circumstances .
