HiIhave for sale an F.W Elliott Ltd 14" fusee dial clock dated 1941with the RAF insignia at the top of the dial which I bought from Fordboot fair last weekend.Cleaned all the dust and dead spiders out gave her a service she runs like new.TheclockTheclock is an RAF mess room clock with a solid Mahogany wood frame anddovetailed back box with the original doors, with the bottom lock the door shuts with the original lock and key present. All that Ihave done since owning it is to run it, it... is in original conditionnever played with having the painted black solid cast brass bezel.Thedial is fading a little it is cream in colour and a bit of yellowingcan be seen on the edges and at the centre but still looks reallygood, a small amount of rust coming though behind the dial legs canbe seen it is all held in by the four original pegs to the case.Thebezel is cast brass and has the original catches it has been paintedblack.Thecase and front glass have spots of white paint on them I have not orwill not try to clean off I will leave that to the new owner.Themovement is clean I serviced it and it is running really strong , Ithink this clock has never been messed with since 1941.Themovement is signed F.W. Elliott Ltd and has a number this keeps goodtime over eight days with a pleasing tick and is a fusee chain drivenmovement the pendulum and key are also present.OverallThis clock must be quite rare to retain all the original featurespendulum/pegs/bezel/dial a very nice clock that looks great ondisplay and keeps very good time, you are welcome to visit and seethe clock while the auction is running and ask any questions youlike, the new owner I am sure will love this old piece of history.Alsoon the back is some stamp marks and some numbers not sure what theymean to be honest.Thebezel has a number stamped in as also the case has.
