Pair 1920s - 30s Art Deco Porcelier Porcelain Wall Sconces, Rewired, Good Switches
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:116568 | Modified Item: No |
Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
These porcelain bath sconces were made by Porcelier sometime in the 1930's and they have classic art deco styling. The porcelain finish is in excellent condition with only the minor blemishes typical of Porcelier fixtures when they left the factory.
The wiring is new as are the nickel plated chains. The pull chain switches work smoothly and correctly but we ...always recommend that a wall switch be the primary on/off method. These pull chain sockets are no longer made, and if one breaks you have to salvage another one to repair it (or bypass it). They might last another 40 years, who knows, but the wall switch is the better option. However, the pull chains give them that 1930's look and if you are restoring an old house, these might be perfect. The two prong plug in one sconce does not work, but all of the parts are there and it can be restored if buyer wants it to work. We left the chains long, but would be glad to trim them to whatever length the buyer wants (or give you instructions on how to do it yourself).
Dimensions: wall plate is 7" high, 4" wide, and each fixture projects4 from wall. Height to the end of the chain is 11".
They use standard base bulbs (not included). All mounting hardware is included in sale including nickel plate mounting nuts.
