This is a super, original butter stamp that dates to the mid-19th century. Made from one piece of pine wood, it has a print face diameter of approximately 3 1/2 inches and a height, including the handle, of about 2 1/2 inches. The basic outline of the plant is that of a tulip flower; the large central portion is unusually large for the stigma (female part of the flower) and almost looks more like a fruit design, but some of the tulips illustrated in Kindig's "Butter Prints ...and Molds" also have large stigmas. This piece came out of a Canadian collection (Ontario) and was likely made in the northeastern U.S. or southeastern Canada. It is in excellent condition for its age. I guarantee this butter stamp to be antique. I have a 14-day, no questions asked, return policy. If you are unhappy with your purchase, for any reason, simply return it in the same condition in which you received it for full refund.
