20 Para Germania Stamp, 1908 Constantinople Cancel On Postcard Of Local Ladies
Item History & Price
The divided back card has the imprint of Editeur M.J.C. in green and is numbered 56. Two of the la...dies are veiled (and carrying parasols) and one is not. All are elaborately dressed in the colourful studio photo. The caption states: "Femmes en costume turc" -- "Women in Turkish costumes."
A fascinating and evocative Turkish, German post offices abroad and overprinted stamp card.
At the same time I'm listing an elusive German WW1 card with preprinted label and Heeressache (military matters) handstamp.
This item has been relisted at a reduced price. It will not be relisted again but returned to my fair stock.
Because eBay is now taking a 10 per cent commission on postage paid (in addition to PayPal's 4 per cent-plus), I have reluctantly had to increase my postage rates to cover the cost of postage and board-backed envelope. However I am not raising my domestic postage prices for small items despite the latest increase. As I have some buy-it-now lots, anyone who purchases one of my items might want to look at them before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. See my other items! When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday. ref 5864
