This comes from the estate sale of the owner of the FIRST McDonalds Restaurant Franchise in Portland, Oregon. It was McDonald's number 117th Store.
He and a group of 8 other Navy shipmates opened the First McDonalds in Portland, Oregon in Feburary of 1960. Their first hamburgers cost .15 cents!
He went on to own 4 McDonalds in the Portland area.
His name was Oliver Lund. You should look him up online. He has an amazin...g biography. First serving 20 years in the military as a journalist, owning McDonald's restaurants, and working on the Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor, as well as tons of other charity work.
The wristwatch looks to me to be Circa 1960s....70s at the latest.
It runs GREAT.
The Dial just says "Swiss Made, " and "17 Jewels."
I have taken a photo of the back side markings. The back says Waterproof, Automatic, and Incabloc.
The FACE is FANTASTIC. Large Golden arches. Along with a calendar day and date.
The winder works fine.
The face looks to be in VERY GOOD Condition. The arches look GREAT.
The crystal is scratched.
The goldtone metal is GOLD all over. **Sorry the photos make it seem worn and darkened in spots, it is NOT...the dark spots are just shadows on the reflective metal (in the photos only).**
The dial itself measures 1 3/16" across.
The entire watch front, including the lugs, measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/2."
This watch has a GREAT feel and Presentation in Person.
Shipping within the United States will be $4.00 (packed well).
THANKS!
