The original Macintosh game, and the only one published by Apple! Through the Looking Glass, also known as Alice, was written for the original Macintosh in 1983 by Steve Capps (who also co-authored the original Finder). This hard-to-find game was published in a unique package styled to look like an antique book at the behest of Steve Jobs himself. The design of the game itself was equally striking and revolutionary for its day, featuring crisp, black-and-white graphic...s in the style of medieval woodcuts to show off the Macintosh's capabilities.
The condition of this box and disk is truly remarkable given its age. (The back of the disk label has a 1983 and 1984 copyright printed on it -- 1983 is the year before the Macintosh was released.) The box is in almost perfect condition and the game disk is immaculate. The "bookmark" under the disk is in perfect condition. The original tissue paper is still present inside the box!
Unlike others I've seen for sale, this copy is known to be TESTED and WORKING perfectly on the original disk after 35 years (I tested it today on an original 128k Mac with an internal Macintosh Plus upgrade and it works great - see photos - computer and mouse not included in this listing :) ). The disk also includes two other classic programs from Steve Capps, the original "Amazing" (a maze game) and the Dali-esque melting clock screensaver.
