This 29 5/8 inches long plastic and metal cap firing rifle is a Shootin' Shell Rolling Block Indian Scout toy rifle by Mattel Inc. It is from1958. All is plastic except for the barrel, the trigger and the cap firing mechanism, which is metal. The rifle works fine and shows light to average usage. The hidden compartment in the faux wood stock opens and closes easily. The firing mechanism consists of 2 parts, one that would cover a 1" shootin' shell that would be inserted into the barrel... and a second one to place a Greenie Stik-M caps “Shootin’” shell, Mattel's cap choice. I do not have any of the Greenie Stik-M caps, but I have 1 of the toy bullets that is included.
