This rare jar belonged to my mother and was part of my private collection that belonged to her. The mixer is 11 1/2" tall and 4" across from the handle tip to the edge of the cup. The jar is clearly marked on one side "THE HOLT-LYON JAR CREAM WHIP AND MAYONNAISE MIXER. The other side is marked "THE HOLT-LYON CO. TARRYTOWN, N.Y.The color is blue/green glass and the pint jar is 5 1/4" to the bottom of the mold. There are no chips or cracks and has the old bubbles and blowing drips ...and one seam which only flows to the bottom curve of the jar. The rim is not chipped and you can see the original cut marks on the rim. The mixer works fine, a little slow but not made to keep up with the mixers of today. The inside of the handle has "Made in USA and is very hard to read but is there. The outside of the handle is marked "HOLTS EGG BEATER PAT AUG 22 1899 APR 3 1900 AND THE NUMBER "A" . All I have done is dust and wash some but I have not scrubbed the beater and you will see some dirt and some rust but I did not want to make it look new by any means. This is an outstanding item to add to your collection and I am sorry to see it go but my children could care less about antiques and it would end up in a garage sale someday.
