I am so excited to offer this unusual microscope from the early 1900s! This microscope was made by C H Stoelting Co. Chicago, Illinois, as part of their "Universal Projectoscope". I have included a picture of the advertisement for it from the 1907 edition of "School Board Journal, " a publication that was found in libraries of State Universities. (BIG THANKS TO ALLAN WHO FOUND THIS FOR ME!!) The Universal projection lantern was marketed to schools for projecting normal and microscopic ...images onto a screen for education. It appears the microscope was fitted with a Bausch & Lomb rotating lens holder and does not need a mirror to work! I was able to ascertain the current working ability of the microscope using three lens and human hair. The results of which are included in the pictures section of this listing. It's a microscope that works pretty darn good without a mirror and it looks pretty darn cool to boot! It's a hardy one and a great piece of history!!!
PLUS THREE LENS
One lens is a "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. 2" (comes in brass lens screw cap vial), the 2nd lens is labeled "Gundlach Optical Co. 1/2 & 1 in." (comes in brass lens screw cap vial), and the third is labeled "E Leitz 6" (comes in hinged box). I have added pictures of a human hair using the 3 different lenses. Ships with handling fee of $10 for extra packaging material and insurance.
