Here we are offering a 1910 vintage Warren G. Harding OhioGubernatorial campaign ribbon: one 1 15/16” x 8¾” Marion Harding C-L-U-B. It has spotting on the left side.-Warren Gamaliel Harding was the 29th president of theUnited States from 1921 until his death in 1923. A member of the RepublicanParty, he was one of the most popular U.S. presidents to that point. After hisdeath a number of scandals, such as Teapot Dome, came to light, as did hisextramarital affair with Nan Brit...ton; each eroded his popular regard. He isoften rated as one of the worst presidents in historical rankings.Harding sought and gained the 1910 Republican gubernatorialnomination. At that time, the party was deeply divided between progressive andconservative wings, and could not defeat the united Democrats; he lost theelection to incumbent Judson Harmon. Harry Daugherty managed Harding'scampaign, but the defeated candidate did not hold the loss against him.
