Today we are happy to offer for sale a rare post World War I named and dated Unites States Navy medal! This patriotic artifact from the First World War period was Award to soldiers who showed good conduct, zeal, fidelity and obedience during the war. The medal is crafted of bronze and features the U.S. Navy clipper ship insignia on the front; the reverse side is dedicated to Harold Ray Snow, who was part of the crew of the USS Rigel, an Altair class destroyer tender named for Rigel, the brightest star in the constellation Orion. The medal is dated 21 May 1925 and includes a red fabric sash, with bronze plaque that reads "USS Barry #248"; Barry (DD-248/APD-29) was a Clemson-class destroyer in the United States Navy during World War II. She was the second ship named for Commodore John Barry, construction commenced in 1919. Medal presents beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with minor wear/tarnish and patina commensurate with age. This rare US Navy medal will make a great addition to any antique and vintage United States Militaria memorabilia collection. Fresh to the market!
