This listing is for an authentic vintage or antique primitive architectural replica of a country school house. It has three windows on each side and open doorway at front. It is made of a pressed wood product ..... possibly Upson board. Shingles are lightly painted on roof. Chimney is wood block. Windows are divided with mortised and glued sections. It is marked SUNFLOWER DIST. 74 over front door. ...; Inside has a built in small stage with desk at front, and painted chalk board. Chalk board has message "Orrin D. Crider - Teacher 1925-26". I became curious what was inside as I could see a small platform and a desk? up front ... when I shined a flashlight through the window the message on the chalk board stood out. Building measures 11" x 8" (excluding eaves) and is 8-1/2" tall to peak (excluding chimney). It shows age and storage wear, and needs some cleaning. It has some edge chipping, and roof on one side has been broke and glued. It appears to originally been constructed with nails and glue .. but corners and roof have been later repaired with staple gun. These need to be pulled and tuned over. I bought this maybe twenty years ago in Phillips County, Kansas ... but could find no District register from the 1920s on line. Building is overall in good used condition.
