Superb quality genuine 172 year old sterling silver example, beautiful early Rococo "melon" shape, with 2 attractive high scrolled handles and all-over decorated with attractive flowers and foliage. It rests on 4 ornate cast silver feet and inside it still has its original gilded interior. Very heavy, weighs approx. 466 grams and there are no added personal engraved monograms or crests in the cartouche. Measurements Impressive size, measures a huge approx. 9 inches (228mm) in length, (including handles), x 6.45 inches (160mm) wide and stands 4.75 inches (123mm) in height.Date English antique early Victorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1847, (Gothic date letter "m"). Includes the silver duty mark of Queen Victoria. Superb clear struck hallmarks.Maker Silversmiths initials "JS AS", (Joseph & Albert Savory - 1834-1854).Condition Excellent condition and ready to be used. No splits or cracks, no solder repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, a few minor little pin-head bruises, really nothing much at all and a beautiful example.
