<p>This is a nice example of a French Infantry Officer Sword, Model 1882. It is mounted with a streamline blade that measures 31 3/8 inches in length which remains in nice condition with only minor surface staining and is nicely engraved with the initials "GN" just next to the guard on one side. The multi branched guard frames a beautifully carved horn hilt that remains very healthy as well and with remnants of the original wire wrap still present. The plated metal scabbard is in... good serviceable condition however has a couple of dings near the drag.
