Turquoise and Sterling Silver Pendant on a Sterling Silver Necklace
A large teal blue, Royston gemstone in a twisted wire sterling settingis the centerpiece of this hand-crafted, vintage pendant. The domed turquoise gemstone is hand polished and bezel-set.The pendant was handmade by Navajo artist E. Platero and carries the artist hand ettched hallmark.I have not been able to identify the first name of the artist.Paired with the pendant is an&...nbsp;18 1/2" sterling silver, flat rope necklace made in Italy.The pendant has a Shepherds Hook bail ~ see Pix 6.The pendant and necklace are in very good, as-found condition.>>w<< The pendant and necklace have not been cleaned or polished, just wiped off with a jewelers rouge before pictures were taken. As a vintage piece, the pendant has all the aspects of pre-owned jewelry, such as fine scratches, light wear and tarnish. There are no major dents, dings or flaws unless noted.Keep in mind that turquoise has natural 'birthmarks'. Birthmarks include the matrix, quartz inclusions, crevices, cracks, pits and other natural occurrences.
