This vintage Hohner accordion was purchased at an estate sale from the original owners collection. I believe it’s from the 60s. It is from the Verdi series. From my research it is actually a Verdi lll, and not a Verdi ll as it may appear. If you look closely you can see that it appears to be missing the third l. It’s a brilliant red with beautiful pattern. For its age it is in fantastic condition. I am by no means an expert on these but when played, the accordion sounds nice. The k...eys look to have to slight yellowing to them. When different keys are pressed and played the different notes play nicely. The strap is connected well but there is a rip in the thinner piece of the leather that is closer to the accordion, not the should strap itself. There is some slightly stained areas of the cloth piece but for its age it looks great. The case is really neat and has a small Hohner badge on the front. There are some small marks and imperfections on the case but nothing that you wouldn’t expect considering how old it is. The corners of the case show wear reflecting its age but to me, just gives it character. The clasps work well on the case. If anything one clasp could use a little wd40. It’s very heavy and will be shipped safely in a large box with extra padding. This piece would make a great addition to any collection, whether played or for decoration.
