Pair of 18th Century"Porcelaine de la Reine" Square Serving Dishes
  Up for auction is a rare and lovely pair of late 18th Century, Paris, (André Marie Leboeuf, Rue Thiroux), scallop edged bowls.

  Made in André Marie Leboeuf's Paris factory on the Rue Thiroux under the patronage of Marie Antoinette, they have the Queen's crown-over-A mark in iron red.
   They measure 8-1/4" across by 9-1/2" on the diagonal by 1-1/2" high, with... scalloped corners and sloped and ribbed edges.

They are hand painted with a band of deep fuschia flowers, shaded green leaves and double swags of gold wheat.

The rims and well outlines are also trimmed in gold.

Scattered sprigs of tiny blue flowers and gold leaves dot the wells.

There is some fading to the décor, mostly where the gold dots cross over the raised ribs. A few firing spots on the back.
