RARE Antique Solid Gold Minute Repeater Pocket Watch - NEAR MINT CONDITION!
This is a very rare antique Swiss 14K Solid Gold Minute Repeater Pocket Watch (serial number 53041). The watch has well-maintained and well-kept. It has a few light scratches on the case, but otherwise is in near mint mechanical and cosmetic condition! The inner back cover features a number of awards for this maker! This is an excellent Minute Repeater specimen for the serious watch enthusia...st's collection.
The watch is large. It is approximately 2-3/8 inches in diameter (excluding the stem and push lever), and 5/8 inches thick.
Watch Case: The watch case is a Hunter case with 14K Gold 0.585 Swiss Hallmarks. The case has some light scratches. The case opens and snaps shuts correctly.
Dial: The dial is clean and mint condition. There is an inner glass covering over the dial.
Mechanical condition: The watch winds, sets, and ticks. The mechanism is clean and well-maintained. The repeater function operates well and chimes the hours, quarter hour, and minutes. Please view the youtube videos of the mechanism.

French Silver VERGE FUSEE Pocket Watch: Cleaned, Oiled, and Working
This is an antique silver verge fusee pocket watch from the late 1700s made by Frères Esquivillon et De Choudens of Paris (serial number 57741). The diameter is approximately 46 mm (excluding the stem) and 25 mm thick. According to G. H. Baillie's "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World", Esquivillon and De Choudens were operating in Paris from 1765 to 1830 and their watches are held in numerous known collections.
The movement features a silver balance bridge and silver decorative accent around the edge of the movement. The balance bridge has a red ruby covering the upper balance pivot.
Case: The case is solid sterling silver. There are a number of dents and scratches on the outer case (see photos). The watch may have had an outer case at one time but it is missing. The case is marked with serial number 57741 matching that of the movement. The stem is bend slightly. The bow does not appear to be original to the watch.
Mechanical condition: The watch has been disassembled, cleaned, and oiled. The watch winds, sets, and ticks. Although I cannot guarantee antique watch time keeping, I am running a timing test and will provide an estimate upon completion.
Other condition: Dial is in excellent condition without cracks or chips.
