Very Collectable Red Sub - Purchased from Tourneau - Beautiful Condition - 1 Year Warranty Today's offering showcases this very cool and highly collectable "red let...ter" version of the famous 1680 Sub. It is a 2.9 million serial number. It has sporty and classy vintage Rolex style and its coveted original red letter dial set it apart as one of the elite vintage Rolexes sought after by serious watch connoisseurs and men of discerning taste. Here are a few of its features: Original "red letter.' Only a small number of 1680 Submariners, which were the first Submariner to feature a date display, had the word Submariner written in red.

This Certified Pre-Owned Rolex is in beautiful condition and was purchased from Rolex authorized dealer Tourneau. It appears to be unworn since being serviced and purchased. All of its parts are genuine Rolex down to the spring bars and it presents in beautiful condition. Accompanying it are its Tourneau boxes. Tourneau is not allowed to using anything other than Rolex parts when servicing it and they're not allowed to sell anything that contains any aftermarket parts, so purchasing this watch is like purchasing it from a Rolex AD. We have included several photos from the original Tourneau listing attesting to the fact that it's unaltered since they're servicing. Tourneau fully serviced the watch and provided a two-year warranty at the time of their sale. We have timed it in five chronometer positions on a state-of-the-art computerized system. It continues to keep time nearly on par with a new Submariner. It is part of a discerning collection we are selling from of a renowned pediatrician. Rolex, known for exposing their wristwatches to extreme circumstances, took their testing to a new level on September 30, 1953, when they strapped one of their new prototype Submariner diving watches to the famous Piccard family's bathyscaph FNRS-2 for its world record setting dive to 10, 336 feet. The watch survived the testing unharmed and watertight.

The water resistance of vintage watches can no longer be guaranteed and is not covered under the watch's warranty. We don't recommend getting a vintage watch wet - and really don't recommend showering or diving with it - even one that was originally designed to be waterproof.

The vast majority of our watches arrive safely and problem free. However at times vintage watches and their hairsprings can be sensitive to rough courier handling or just having a difficult trip to you.
But even on a bad day there's still good news... We offer a full one-year warranty on virtually every watch we sell (unless occasionally specifically stated otherwise), so if anything happens to it in transit or goes wrong anytime in the first year, we will gladly repair it for you at no charge. Yes, even the older vintage watches. So sit back, relax, and dream about the first place where you're going to wear your new watch!
Our official warranty in many ways mirrors those of a number of the watch manufacturers and covers the proper timekeeping of the movement. It does not cover things like abuse, being dropped, crystals, bracelets, crowns, case parts etc. or water resistance. While we are the sole determinants of what qualifies for warranty work.... even if you have a problem that you don't think will qualify for coverage, tell us about it anyway. We are here to serve and just might be able to help you.
