This rare vintage gents chronometer pocket watch was made by J.W.BENSON, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London. who was a WARRANTED watch maker to the Queen. It is completely original and, has the Patent date `MAY 3d 1883 engraved on the back of the movement. It is in good working order and, winds and sets smoothly. The chronometer is operating correctly as it should. The solid silver case is in good condition for the age and, it has the London assay hall marks dating to c1885. The whi...te enamel dial is also in good condition without chips. The bevelled glass at the front shows few scratches as would be expected but no major issues. This watch has a fancy engraving at the back of the case. It measures approx. , 50mm n diameter and 16mm deep.
