This is a stunning example of a rare, optional J-2 Tri-powered, 1957 Oldsmobile Holiday 88! This car also features the X-marks cut into the corners of the cowl tag which (we believe) indicates that this J-2 option was installed by the factory, rather than the far more common dealer-installed J-2 packages.This car has many Super 88 features an...d trim parts. The paint is two years old and is an original "themed" Tri-toned car with modern urethane paint colors of Sunset Glow Copper, Pearl White top, and Black Accent stripe, with matching factory three tone interior of Copper and White leather, and Black NOS-type cloth material from SMS Auto Fabrics. This car is powered by the correct 371cid V8 with the rare "NASCAR Bump" valve covers and the infamous J-2 option producing 300h.p., mated to a four speed Jetaway Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. There is power steering, power brakes, an NOS clock converted to quartz, courtesy lights, new Super 88 wheel covers from Fusick Oldsmobile Parts, and big whitewall radial tires from American Classic tire.No expense was spared on this car with the following performed: New tinted windshield, new tinted date-coded side glass, as well as re-chromed side glass surround and vent window assemblies. Re-chromed front and rear bumpers. Polished stainless steel trim. All emblems, tail light bezels, head light bezels, and front grill re-chromed or replaced. Turn signal and brake light lenses replaced with new ornaments from Fusick. New interior redone to Super 88 trim level with re-anodized headliner bows and relocated dome lights as originally found on Super 88's. Correct Super 88 molded arm rest interior door panels and rear interior quarter panels. Correct new Daytona carpet from Fusick as well as Dynamat sound deadener throughout the car including the headliner and the trunk. New steering wheel from Fusick. Alpine hidden CD Stereo with remote, new speakers, and subwoofer. Windshield wipers converted from vacuum to electric using 1957 Chevrolet wiper motor and conversion kit. Heavy duty ADDCO front sway bar. Converted from points to Pertronix III pointless ignition with built-in rev-limiter. Rear-end and two piece drive-line rebuilt. Newer battery (2018). New drive-shaft carrier mount from Fusick. New heater core from Fusick. Super 88 rear bumper with new exhaust ornaments from Fusick. NOS back up lights. New 1" lowering springs from Jamco Suspension on all four corners give the car the right stance and a better ride. New stock high-efficient rebuilt radiator with very rare fan shroud to help keep the motor cool on hot days and it works very well. The car was frame-on restored when all this recent work was done. However, in addition, it was previously frame-off restored in the 1980's by the first owner's son. Mileage shows approximately 43312 miles but not verifiable as original. The engine and transmission were said to have been rebuilt by the first owner's son during the frame-off restoration.This car is being sold by just the third owner. Needs nothing. Wonderful example.
