This is a World War II US Military Hamilton Pocket Chronograph Model 23. Issued to the USA military based on the back cover Ordnance information..."AN 5742 FSSC NO. 88-W-590 MFR'S PART NO. 37297 HAMILTON WATCH CO. ". The case is a Keystone base metal case and measures 50.9 mm wide not including th...e bow and crown. Has a coin edge front and back edges. The black SIGNED military dial is very clean and has off-white Arabic and outer chapter ring. Has beige luminescent hands. There are 2 registers on this pocket chronograph watch. The top register is a minute accumulator. The bottom register is a continuious seconds hand. There is a center sweep second hand for timing events. The dial appears to be original. The SIGNED movement is a complex 19 jewel 3 Adjust + Temp. grade 23 Hamilton movement. It will run but stops and will need to be serviced. Sold as-is and as found. The movement's serial # P17487 indicates this watch was made in 1942. This is a very cool Hamilton Chronograph military pocket watch complete with military ordnance. I have no service records for this 77 year old Hamilton Military watch and am selling it as-is and as found. Very nice example of the Hamilton Railroad grade watch.
