Up for auction is an original Vietnam War era US helmet complete with rare Paratrooper liner in excellent used condition. The helmet is a later front seam, swivel bale model with good original paint. It also has lots of scratches, dings and rubs as you can see in my photos. Otherwise, it is very tight with no major damage. Good clip-on canvas chin strap. The paratrooper liner is also in excellent used condition and is complete with chin strap, webbing with leather band and snaps to acc...ept snaps on steel pot chin straps. Liner has canvas belts to accept paratrooper chin strap which is there. Also on the helmet liner is a rare impact pad on the back. It attaches to liner via a small buckle at the rear of the liner. See photos. The impact pad is made of foam and painted OD green. It has the words "CROWN" and "BOTTOM" stamped in black with arrows. The liner is complete and excellent. No cracks or breaks. The leather sweat band is soiled. Thanks.
