This outstanding quality Persian silver ice bucket is one of 3 we are offering this week - all came from the same Parisian family collection - all made of solid 84 grade silver (875/1000 purity), all with rare and desirable figural decor and all made by Isfahan's finest silversmith 'VARTAN' who was active in the late 19th - early 20th century
This one is the largest of the 3 - featuring 3 round 'medallions', each engraved with a figural scene - a maiden playing a string instrument t...o a seated man, a woman holding a bottle and cup and a woman seated under a tree - the rest of the surface is finely chased with an elaborate design featuring numerous birds, flowers, trees and geometric elements
The hinged handle is formed as a woven rope - French import / charge mark (swan) at the bottom center
Work quality is exquisite with very fine detailing, superbly executed by the gifted artist silversmith
Excellent, flawless condition with no losses or damages of any sort - please view all detailed pictures
It measures (without the handle) 13.2 cm tall x 13.2 cm in diameter at the rim - with the handle it is 21 cm tall - weight is 408.8 grams
