Rolex first introduced their Oyster case in 1926. With its screw-down case back and crown, it was the first waterproof watch. The Oyster Perpetual followed in 1950, with the caliber 1160, which was also used in some Submariner and Explorer references (65xx and 66xx).
The mid-sized Oyster Perpetual watches were produced from roughly 1960 to 1986. The present watch contains the caliber 116...0 movement, which Rolex primarily used in their ladies' models.
DescriptionThis is a rare midsize Rolex Oyster Perpetual from the 1960's with a two tone steel and rose gold case with a engine turned bezel. It is accompanied with a Rolex service box from a later period.
The overall condition of the watch is fair vintage, especially for the age.
There are some scratches and crazing to the plastic crystal, signs of wear but I wanted to leave it in as found, original condition. The watch works and keeps good time, Sold as is, without any guarantees of future mechanical performance. There is a dial blemish above the 12o clock position as shown in the pictures.The watch comes with a black high gloss lizard leather strap, pink high gloss leather strap and a satin pink strap.
