This auction is for a very nice old Elgin 1917 model 5 grade 336 pocket watch, size 18 that is 17 jewels It is running verty nicely as I sit here watching it but there is a problem with winding it. I can only turn the stem a couple turns. However I never try to wind my watches over a few turns and I didn't try to force it. But it does start and run very well for a couple hours or so, as far as I can tell. This is a kinda rare watch as there was only a 1000 run in 1917. Face is li...ke new, as is the crystal. The case shows no wear to speak of and is a Philadelphia 20 year guaranteed. I thibnk with a little attention and maybe cleaning this old watch will be one you'll enjoy for years to come..........
