Up for auction is an original Vietnam sand cast theater made "WAR" pendant as worn by MACV SOG recon members. The 1 1/2" white metal medallion is in excellent, lightly used condition with great patina. These pendants were widely worn by MACV SOG recon team members as a response to less warlike troops' wear of peace sign medallions. Recon members stated that WAR backwards stands for "recon always wins". There are several variations of these locally made badges. For more information, see...
