Dorothea Tanning (1910-2012)Birthday   (WR68)color lithograph after the 1942 oil on canvas, published c.1968signed in pencil lower right margin rectonumbered in pencil from the edition of 150 lower left margin rectothere is also known to exist an edition of 300 on Arches paperwith the Arches watermark along the deckled right sheet edgeplate size 22½" x 14¼" (57.2 x 46.2 cm.)paper size 29¼" x 21" (74.3 x 53.3 cm.)printed by Mourlot, ParisLiterature:  Dorothea... Tanning:  Hail, Delirium!, New York Public Library, 1992, catalog no.68, p.106Condition:  colors bright and fresh, never been framed, faint light toning to paper due to age, otherwise generally fine conditionHere is the hand signed color lithograph of Birthday, Dorothea Tanning's best known oil painting which now hangs in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
