Vintage Bulova Accutron Astronaut Tuning Fork Watch using the 214HN 360Hz movement. As worn by NASA Astronauts and X-15 test pilots in the 1960s. Has fourth 24-hour hand and rotating bezel to provide a GMT function, useful for pilots.
Stamped M6 which dates it to 1966. Very good fully working condition. Undamaged acrylic crystal, the bezel is clean and rotates correctly. No significant dents or damage on it at all, just a little patina in keeping with its 50+ year age. Ca...se 38mm wide at the bezel and about 40mm lug to lug.
Fitted with adjustable mesh bracelet, will fit up to an 8" wrist no problem. The battery is brand new and should run for 12-18 months. An additional new Renata 394 cell will be provided with it, changing batteries is easy since there is a hatch on the back. This was serviced when sold to me about 4 years ago is still running strongly and accurately. As with all vintage watches, water resistance can no longer be guaranteed so please take care with it around water.
