Vintage 1940s WWII Rolex Oyster Raleigh Stainless Steel Wristwatch
Item History & Price
This is a really charming watch made for the Canadian market during WWII. This example is in lovely condition and needs nothing to be worn and enjoyed.
Dial: Appears to be in original condition. Has a nice patina. Hasn’t been mucked up like a lot of these Oyster dials (some people add a “Rolex” decal so everyone knows it’s a Rolex). Hands: My biggest complaint about this watch is that the hands are not origin...al. The blued steel hands are nice, but these should be radium hands. Crystal: Modern replacement. Seems to be plastic. Perfect conditoin. Crown: The original patent Oyster crown—screws down tight. Case: Stainless steel. Beautiful shape. Appears to have been polished. 28.75mm. 15.25mm lugs.Movement: I do not have the service records for this watch; the previous owner said that it was serviced in the last five years. I cannot confirm this, but the movement is very clean and is keeping time.Strap: Modern NATO strap of nylon.
