This particular design is one of the most iconic pieces from the line-- compare to the recent Se...amaster 1948 limited editions that Omega just put out to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Seamaster line and the influence is clear. This one is arguably more interesting, a true vintage piece that comes in the more understated 35mm case representative of the era, and won't cost you $7000 (unless I get really lucky with this auction).Details:-The stunning silver dial has been professionally retouched. Notice that the Seamaster font for instance is bolder than it would be in unrestored condition, though because it was retraced on the original dial of this watch, all fonts, spacings, etc are correct. The silver burst looks stunning in various lights-Of course there is normal wear on the case and bracelet, but no large dings or dents on the body of the watch. There is a flaw on the crystal around 11 oclock as evident in the high resolution photos. If this bothers you please note this is one of the cheapest and easiest replacements, running about $10-15 in my area.-Powered by the Caliber 352 automatic "bumper" movement, keeping accurate time (though of course not as precise as modern watches). The movement is in great condition as shown in the second to last photo. Automatic winding as well as manual winding mechanisms are working very well-The watch is signed Omega everywhere it should except the crown is unsigned. I was told this crown is original to the watch and it's true that the company did not consistently sign all their crowns with the Omega logo up through the early 1950s. - Comes on an authentic Omega stainless steel bracelet, that I purchased after acquiring this watch. The bracelet will only fit slightly over 6.5'' wrist comfortably. However this watch looks stunning on all sorts of straps-- I used to also switch out a distressed calfskin strap and a dark blue suede strap.I am slowly listing a few watches out of my collection, and have a lot of experience and positive feedback from other vintage watch sales.
