A beautiful 1940's high ArT DeCO Movado Acvatic wristwatch in a solid stainless steel Francois Brogel signed early waterproof case with gorgeous patina'd original factory printed sector style dial, blue steel sword hands and rare centre seconds all powered by a superb quality in-house Movado caliber 470 movement which is away ticking nicely but will need a service to get it keeping good time. The symmetry and balance of this beautifully designed dial along with the gorgeous light beige patina gi...ves this watch that special vintage feel that rarely comes along. Signed Movado, Swiss Made. The blue steel hands complete the Art Deco look to perfection. The case is typical of the day at 30mm in diameter excluding the original crown, a nice size for a small mens wrist today. It is solid stainless steel with sharp beveled lugs and brushed sides and looks worn, but unpolished to me. The back however does look to have had a personal engraving partially sanded away at some point but it could not have been very deep because the original Movado Factories Switzerland stamp is still present around the edge. You screw it open to find the inside back signed FB (Francois Borgel) Patent +, Stainless Steel Inal, Movado Factories Switzerland, with serial and model numbers below. The watch comes on a very stiff, vintage black leather strap with generic buckle that while it matches the look of the watch beautifully would probably need to be replaced for one to wear the watch long term. The movement is hermetically protected with an dust cover inside the outer back which is snapped off to reveal the movement within. It is a beautiful and rare center seconds caliber 470 fully signed 15 Jewels, Swiss Made, Movado Factories. It is ticking away, but has not kept time for me so is being sold as is with no timekeeping warranty, in need of a service. A truly stunning vintage Art Deco era timepiece of the highest quality in every regard from the famous house of Movado, Switzerland. Don't miss it!!!

I am still accepting payments through Paypal, but because of a recent policy change on their behalf I have to protect myself from fraudulent buyers returning items for unwarranted reasons. The new policy is that Paypal is no longer refunding the Paypal fees taken from the buyers payment, in the event of a return. Basically, if a return is requested by a buyer, those fees are kept by Paypal and are no longer available to me to refund! Please contact me first by message if you are unhappy with your item and I will do my best to resolve it. If you feel your item is not as described and we mutually agree the return is for a warranted reason (such as damage in shipping), I will cover that extra cost, but if there is a dispute launched through ebay (the return is not mutually agreed) and the refund is forced upon the safe return of the item, the Paypal fees originally paid will not be refunded to the buyer (about 3-4% of the total payment). I do my best to describe every aspect of each item I sell so hopefully this will be a rare occurrence, but please bear this policy in mind when bidding on my auctions.
