This book had been anticipated for some time. This is an English-language treatment focused on cavalry from the German side of the wire. Using a series of multi-language sources, this covers the period of time from the start of the war on four August until the British Expeditionary Force became deeply involved on 23 August. Much of what we have all learned in school is based around the British Official History. But the time before English speaking accounts were commonplace there were other non-English sources. This is not your father's history. Rather it is a look at the early operation of the German army. Early cavalry operations. Early aviation operations. Early leadership decisions. You will be surprised at what you will find out, as it is quite different from what you think you already knew. We have not listed anything on eBay for years. So I hope we are doing this right.
