John Lennon - 1970 Lithograph - Bag One, Erotic #8 - LIMITED EDITION # 220/300. Signed and numbered by John Lennon. Unframed lithograph measures 30" X 23".
Very large signature approximately 5.5" in length.John Lennon lithograph titled “Erotic No.8” from the Bag One series, this being number 220 out of 300 images. Signed lower right and numbered lower left, the image is one of John and Yoko Ono in an intimate pose. The work on paper is in good, unframed, conditio...n, with some water staining ("foxing") present. Signature and lithograph specifically are in great condition. John Lennon originally created a portfolio of drawings in 1969 as a wedding present to his wife Yoko Ono. These drawings depicted John and Yoko's wedding and honeymoon and the series was titled "Bag One", a rather famous series of images, originally confiscated by the London Police as being pornographic but later released and sold after protests from Lennon. In 1970 John took 14 of the drawings from the Bag One Portfolio to be produced as stone lithographs. These were limited editions of 300 and were to be sold in Art Galleries. John personally signed and numbered the lithographs. This lithograph was purchased in a Chicago Art Gallery and has been in our family since 1973. Please let us know any questions. Thank you.
