One (1) Matchbox Lesney M.G. Model 'A' 19 b3, off-white body, dark red painted interior and base, silver trim; dome and crimped axle ends, 9 x 20 grey plastic wheels, B type light brown driver figure with pocket outline. Stannard code 4 of 6. This model is in excellent to near mint condition. It was introduced... in 1958 and was sold in this type, a silver plastic, and metal wheels variation. A rare MW variation with gold trim exists (Mack). It was the second of four sports or racing cars in the 19 number series. There exist 6 distinct Stannard casting code types. This is a Stannard code 4 with above characteristics. It is approximately 56 mm in overall length. Please carefully examine the high definition photos for the superb original paintwork detail. Some minor paint work detail has been carefully and invisibly restored. The grey plastic wheels have seen no use. The red painted metal interior and base casting is immaculate. There are no casting defects. This M.G. 'A' will display as new. Additional photographs can be sent to your e-mail address and questions will be entertained up to 4 hours prior to auction end.I make the complimentary box which will be sent with the model. They are laser printed so they will be somewhat glossier than an original Lesney era box, which was printed with lithography. 2. Grading:VNM = Very Near Mint. The paintwork is, for all practical purposes, close to new. Original factory flaws will be noted in the listing if they exist. All original accessories are present.
NM = Near Mint. Restoration unnecessary. The paintwork is nearly perfect, clean, shiny and bright on all exterior surfaces (except for possibly the base, if painted). Original paintwork approaches 100% with thepossibleexception of any factory paint flaws, minor restoration of storage relatedpaint work issues, or very minor storage (not impact) wear. Negligible rolling use of the wheels may be present. The model is mechanically perfect. All original appliques and accessories are present.
EXC = Excellent. Minor paintwork and/or applique imperfections may exist, usually due to improper storage, not play, and will be evident in the photos. Paintwork imperfections may have been restored. Decals or other appliques may have been replaced with replicas. For this grade, no mechanical problems exist, including windows, if applicable, and no such repairs have ever been performed, in our opinion. Minor wheel use may be evident.
