Up for bid is a beautiful silkscreen print by the legendary American-German artist JOSEF ALBERS. This print is entitled LATE and comes from his well known 1965 portfolio of 10 screen prints called Soft Edge-Hard Edge. It was published by Ives-Sillman, and printed by Sirocco Screenprint... both from New Haven, CT. The tirage for this portfolio is an edition 250 unsigned prints (only the colophon page was signed and numbered), and an edition of 50, in which each print was signed and numb...ered. All prints measure 17" x 17", with an image size of about 11" x 11". They are printed on Mohawk Superfine Bristol paper, and show the Ives-Sillman chopmark at the bottom right corner.
This screen print is in good vintage condition. The colors are very bright but it does have a few scuffs, stains and minor handling wear/creases to the sheet as shown. This particular copy would benefit greatly from an inexpensive conservation treatment, and is priced accordingly. This print will be safely shipped flat to all USA locations via USPS Priority.
