This is a matted antique engraving from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, a weekly newspaper published in 1884. The prints in this series are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger and far more enduring than the newspaper material we use today.

CONDITION: EXCELLENT / VERY GOOD -- The prints in this series are clear, clean and bright with wide margins -- no tears or folds, excellent definition and nice clean, sharp lines. (Note: A few old flat creases.)
This print is over 135 years old and guaranteed to be original. It is an authentic old print from the aforementioned newspaper and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION.
The visible part of the print, including the white border is 10" x 15". Matted the print measures 16" x 20". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frame.ALL OF OUR MATTED PRINTS ARE WRAPPED IN A CLEAR CELLOPHANE ENVELOPE THAT PROTECTS THE PRINT DURING SHIPPING AND IS PERFECT FOR GIFT GIVING.
