I recently had the privilege of buying out an estate of watchmaker/collector who was deep in love of vintage collectible timepieces and accumulated tons of them ... . He had a massive collection of dress and casual watches , watch parts, and tools. I will be selling some of these pieces this week and weeks to come.Here is GRUEN Precision "Spyder" Veri-Thin men's watch in a wonderfully preserved vintage condition. It seems to me the watch dates fr...om 60s .The face is clean, the hands are lovely . The watch is 21 J, 10K Gold filled, the movement reads Gruen Cincinnati , USA. The case reads J 480038, 335-723 ; Cased and timed by GRUEN Watch CO.Condition/Notes: Please read full description and look at ALL pictures for cosmetic condition and completeness. The service history of this watch is unknown to me . Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. It doesn't take very long for old gummy oil to stop a movement from running ( many times just a week or so ) or even worse if the oil is dried out it might not take too long for the watch to grind itself up inside. This is not specific to my watches, but to all that have not been serviced in the last few years. For this reason we only wind a watch a few turns to verify if it will go through the paces, so please understand I can only tell you if the watch is running here. I am not putting a guarantee on the performance of a watch in regards to timing or longevity. Thanks for looking.
