Elgin WWI Era Sterling Silver Trench Watch Named Soldier

Thisis a really great piece from a local estate. The watch is round, 31mm diametercase, snap back, marked inside the case “WADSWORTH STERLING” along with casenumber 4071453. The case back is engraved “Sergt C. R. Kelly”. Also, the backis badly dents and banged up. I have not cleaned this case so that you can seehow original it is. Really fabulous looking. The Elgin movement is 3/0 size, 7jewels, serial #21544636 (Circa 1919). The movement runs a bit and stops. Itwill need servi...cing to keep running, so I am offering it as is for restoration.The dial is original, white porcelain, and has no cracks or chips. Originalblued steel hands. The hands & dial numbers would have originally been filledwith radium or some other luminous material, but that is now gone. I havereplaced the old crystal with a correct period glass crystal with beveled edge.The watch has wire lugs. Strap not included. This is a great original periodwatch. I prefer to keep it in the original condition, but you may decide tocompletely restore it if you wish. Buyer pays shipping, $5 in USA. Thank you.
