A FINE AND RARE JOSEF HOFFMAN 'BAMBOO STEM' VERY LARGE WINE GLASS. DESIGNED IN CIRCA 1922 FOR WIENER WERKSTATTE AND MADE BY LUDWIG MOSER IN CIRCA 1926.
The conditon of the glass is perfect with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.
This Bamboo Stem wine glass was designed circa 1922 by Josef Hoffmann for Wiener Werkstatte. It was made by Ludwig Moser. The faceted deep blue stem (known as a bamboo stem) supports a colourless flared trumpet bowl, on plain foot.
This... is the largest size of wine glass in the Bamboo Suite. The dimensions are:
- 21cm high- 11.5cm diameter at top- 9cm diamter of foot
A smaller (15.5cm high) glass from the Bamboo Stem suite is pictured in Millers Collectibles Guide 2018 (page 216) and valued at £400 - £500.
