Rare Antique meissen porcelain L113 Cupid As A Hero Slaying A Dragon
Very fine detail A+ quality work !!
1st quality , date circa 1900 Measuring about 9” h ( at the end sword)The sword is broken and replace ( very good done) I am not entirely sure if the sword has been replaced or not, because it is made of metal, but it looks so good like it belongs to the figure. And I cannot see any areas that were previously damaged, but it is possible that it has been professionally repla...ced. This Cupid figure from this L series is one of the most rare and difficult to find of this entire set.!!!With all the decades of my dealing with Meissen This is the 1st one I have come into possession with and in all this time I have only seen about 3 at sales.Pay careful attention to the dragon at the figure feet, especially the teeth! Absolutely superb craftsmanship!!!
If you love to collect Cupid figures of the series than thisIs certainly the crown of the set and must not be missed!!!
