This is an original theatrical release 41" x 27" one sheet poster for the 1957 re-release of the classic 1955 film written and directed by Nicolas Ray and launching a cinematic icon by the name of James Dean. This particular poster is an extremely RARE re-release one-sheet. It is almost identical to the 1955 original release but with a major difference; the photographic image in the upper left includes a shot of Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo, two actors in the film who both received Oscar... nominations for their performances. On the original 1955 poster from 1955, there was an image of a knife fight with James Dean. Also, the re-release was a reminder of the star's untimely and premature death in a California highway accident before the release of the film and well before his last film, George Stevens' Giant, costarring Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. Condition of the poster is very fine, professionally linen-backed by a qualified restorer. The poster was originally folded as sent out to theatres when the movie was originally release.
