Don Byas!Poster published by R Stothard & Sons (Harrow) Ltd., Kilburn NW6.Bill Evans played piano on probably the most famous jazz album of all time - Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.Poster is in black and white (shows blue in photos - but titling is black). Measures 20" tall by 14" wide and ideal for framing.It has been folded into quarters (unfortunately) and will be posted as such (since the folds are already there).Otherwise it is in really good condition - see photos. The reverse side is lightly soiled in places, but only a couple of marks really. Please check photos for condition.I know this is from 1965, firstly from the words on the poster - Bill Evans Trio First British Appearance, well documented as 1965 and secondly as this is from a Ronnie Scott's Club archive which I am also selling, which contains a playbill / flyer relating to the Bill Evans Trio appearing at Ronnie Scott's Club - on Sunday March 14th 1965 at 8.15 pm at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London, W.1. (a Ronnie Scott Production). This poster relates to Bill Evans appearing at Ronnie Scott's Club in Gerard Street, 2nd March (no year date) but 1965 (two weeks before that concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre). A similar Bill Evans Trio poster from 1979 (13 years later) is being sold on Ebay at time of listing for over £480.So what is a large, original, Bill Evans Trio poster from 1965, his first British Appearance worth - at the height of his fame, having played on Kind of Blue with Miles Davis in 1959?My auction starts at £500 + Postage £7 UK (Special Delivery), £12 Europe and £14 USA/World - signed and tracked.
