VINTAGE JOHN WAYNE INTIALS STERLING SILVER & LEATHER NOTEPAD FROM 26 BAR RANCH This eBay listing is for vintage sterling silver and leather notepad that comes as you see pictured and noted above with the initals of J. W. on the front. The overall size of this notepad is 8.5" tall by 6.5" across with the sheet of sterling silver measuring just about 8" tall by 5.5" across. There are hallmarks in the upper right corner that reads: 9...25 inside a cirlce, 885 F inside an oval (there could be a letter in the front of this that I can't read), the last part is GR 64. I wonder if 64 could be a year and GR is the makers initials?? I actually have a cool back story on this notepad, 26 steel signs, 26 catalog and the comics that I'll be listing at this time with John Wayne on the cover, is that I'm told it came from John Wayne's 26 Bar Ranch per the previous owner which was a museum that was selling off some items to make room for new inventory. I picked up a number of comics, some steel No 26 signs, programs and a sterling silver notepad from the same sale. I tried to get a few other items with his name or initials on it as well but the prices were insane for some of the items!! Sadly, NO PROVENANCE was provided to back any of this up.
