                Please check out my100% Positive feedback and bid with complete confidence.  (And please check out the other beautifulpots that I have on eBay.                 You arebidding on a rare museum quality 1954 pedestal bowl by the late renowned potterand glaze master Harding Black.                  ...   DESCRIPTION:  This stellar mid-Century bowl finds HardingBlack at the peak of his ceramic prowess. In keeping with the potter’s methodology, a lovely simple form (arounded bowl atop a beautifully proportioned angled pedestal) serves as acanvas for a stunning display of glaze wizardry.                  Theinterior of the bowl has an amazing complex (even for Harding Black) colorpalette.  An all-over series of beige andwhite rays emanate forth from a shimmering jewel-like red circle at itscenter.  These alternate with the blackrays with feathery burnt orange borders that flow down from the greenish brownrim.                 Theunderside of the bowl and the pedestal are adorned with a mottled blend ofgreen, brown, burnt orange and creamy white tones.                Thishighly collectible piece measures 8” in diameter at the rim and stands 5 3/8”tall.  It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and is signed and dated (1954) in the interior of thepedestal.                              This is a no reserve auction.                ABOUT HARDING BLACK:  The late Harding Black spent over 60 yearsthrowing pots and making ceramic pieces in San Antonio, Texas.  He is best known for his beautiful glazes andis considered by many to be a ceramics pioneer and one of the significanthistorical figures in 20th century American ceramics.  He was self-taught and devoted his life toresearching the science of glaze technology. Mr. Black was able to discover the methods to duplicate many historicalglazes, including the ancient Chinese glazes, such as chun, flambé, oxblood andoil spot.  Appreciation (and demand) forhis work has surged in recent years.                SHIPPING:  Winning bidder pays for insured UPS Ground or USPSPriority shipping.  Winning New Yorkbidder pays applicable state sales tax. International shipping charge is $60. Winning international bidders are responsible for any import taxesimposed by their particular country. Payment via PAYPAL is due within five days of the end of the auction.
