Thisparticular CBS show of See It Now, SegregationIn The South, was probably Murrow’s second most controversial programafter Murrow’s attack on Sen. Joseph McCarthy that forced his resignation. Segregation In The South confrontedand exposed the strong racial bias in southern schools that the Negros faced atthat time. The program is in black and whiteas it was presented and runs 29 minutes (hour TV less commercials). Print is in very good condition. Murrow'shard-hi...tting approach to the news eventually cost him influence in the world oftelevision. See It Now occasionally scored high ratings (usually when itbroached particularly controversial subjects). Eventually, according to co-producer Friendly, Murrow and Paley had a heated exchange inPaley's office; Paley said he was tired of getting "stomach aches"every time See It Now covered controversial matter; Murrow replied, "That's a price you have to be willing to pay". That exchange markedthe beginning of the end for See It Now, which ran its final episode onJuly 7, 1958.
