You are bidding on a rare stampedangama jug by noted potter, author and educator Jack Troy. DESCRIPTION: This masterfully executed jug is aswell-bellied form with a wide rounde...d lip and an upward angled handle thatnicely accommodates 2-3 fingers. The potemerged from the wood kiln with a stunning array of surface tones and textures-from matte blue/gray to mustard yellow to glossy chocolate- that flow in andout of one another around the exterior wall. There are also carbon black and red flashed veins that run along theborders of the other colors. Thisexceptional vessel stands 10” tall and measures app 7” at its widest. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks orrepairs- and has the potter’s impressed name and home town (HUNTINGDON, PA) onthe neck of the jug. This is a no reserve auction. He taught for many years at Juniata Collegein Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, beginning in 1968.
